Summary:
This position ensures all residents are provided with a safe, clean environment thatpromotes resident rights and dignity as directed by the licensed nurse. The CNA isexpected to work in all nursing areas as needed.ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONSEvery effort has been made to make this position description as complete as possible. The omission of specific statementsof duties does not exclude them from the job if the work is similar, related, or is a logical assignment of the position.1. Treat residents with respect at all times providing personal care such as baths/showers,oral hygiene, skin/hair/nail care, monitoring fluid intake/output, toileting, etc.2. Assist male residents in daily shaving; female residents facial hair shaving as necessary.3. Assist serving meals and feeding residents; document meal consumption as necessary.4. Pass out fresh drinking water each shift.5. Use good body mechanics when lifting or moving residents.6. Competently and safely use all equipment; i.e., Hoyer Lift, Ergo Lift, etc.7. Assist with Restorative Nursing Program; complete daily documentation.8. Plan and organize care so residents can attend activities or therapies.9. Function as a team member.10. Make regular rounds to all residents and provide necessary care.11. Answer call lights promptly and provide/obtain necessary care.12. Observe and report all unusual symptoms, changes, accidents, and injuries to chargenurse.13. Report to charge nurse before leaving floor.14. Ensure resident rights such as but not limited to knocking on doors, privacy, residentfreedom of choice as able, etc.15. Follow established policies and procedures and supervision of licensed nurse.16. Perform Vital Signs.17. Serve on various committees as requested.18. Participate in job and facility related training as appropriate.19. Demonstrate a commitment to Quality Improvement.20. Adhere to Organization Policies and Procedures.21. Adherence to Corporate Compliance Policies & Procedures.22. Other duties assigned as related to essential functions of this position.

Qualifications:
EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE1. Current Pennsylvania CNA certification.2. Excellent work history including attendance.SKILLS AND ABILITIES1. Ability to read, write, and speak the English language.2. Ability to work in a team oriented approach to resident care.3. Ability to demonstrate caring manner to residents, families, and coworkers.4. Ability to maintain acceptable personal hygiene and follow appropriate dress practices.5. Good communication skills that include but are not limited to recognizing abnormal signs and symptoms of common diseases and conditions and report such instances to licensed nurse.6. Knowledge and understanding of Restorative Nursing Program.7. Understanding of the chain of command and ability to channel coworkers in this direction to resolve issues.8. Ability to perform functions as itemized in Essential Functions of position.9. Ability to perform functions as itemized in Physical and Environmental Requirements of the job as attached.10. Ability to perform functions as itemized in nature and scope of position.11.
