This position ensures all residents are provided with a safe, clean environment that promotes resident rights and dignity as directed by the licensed nurse. The CNA is expected to work in all nursing areas as needed.
1. Treat residents with respect at all times providing personal care, i.e., baths/showers, oral hygiene, skin/hair/nail care, monitoring fluid intake/output, toileting
2. Assist male residents in daily shaving; female residents facial hair shaving as necessary
3. Assist serving meals and feeding residents; document meal consumption as necessary
4. Pass fresh drinking water each shift
5. Use good body mechanics when lifting or moving resident
6. Competently and safely use all equipment, i.e., Hoyer Lift, Ergo Lift
7. Assist with Restorative Nursing program; complete daily documentation
8. Plan and organize care so residents can attend activities or therapies
9. Function as a team member
10. Make regular rounds to all residents and provide necessary care
11. Answer call lights promptly and provide/obtain necessary care
12. Observe and report all unusual symptoms, changes, accidents and injuries to charge nurse
13. Report to charge nurse before leaving floor
